postpartum hair loss
During pregnancy, hormones cause the hairs to remain in the growing phase versus going through the full hair cycle. Once the pregnancy is over, the hairs enter a mass shedding phase. This type of hair loss can start as early as after you give birth to 3 months later and it can take up to 6 months to 1 year for the hair to return to its regular cycle.
Managing postpartum hair loss:
- Use products like our hair oil which nourishes the hair
- Make sure you are taking the correct vitamins
- Use minimal ingredient shampoo and conditioners
- Minimise how often you do hair treatments
- Overall be gentle with your hair
everyday hair loss
It’s normal to shed between 50 and 100 hairs a day. Check out this video to see what that looks like.Â
If you have more hair fall than this it could be simple reasons such as tight hairstyles (ponytails, braids), vitamin deficiencies or more complex like hormonal, toxic chemicals, stress to your body or medications. Hair loss could also because of aging, genes and menopause. It is important to identify the root to fix the problem.Â

tips to reduce hair loss

Hair massage
Hair massages are known to promote hair growth, improve hair thickness, combat hair loss, fight dandruff and even relieve stress. In fact, in Indian culture it is normal to have weekly hair massages as part of a hair care routine.

A few months after my son was born I got a big hit of hair loss. Nothing was working, post-natal vitamins, different shampoos, I was worried I was going to go bald. I concocted something and thought I would give it a go, it couldn’t get worse right? I massaged the oil in my hair. Let it sit. Washed it off. As I brushed my dried – NO HAIR FALL!! I couldn’t believe my hair loss reduced significantly. I kept using it and my hair loss has reduced to nothing. I hope this helps other mummies out there.
